The first half of the year saw a slump in new car sales compared to the number of second-hand imports from the UK, and Michael says there will be good deals on offer as a result.

The advantages of buying a newer car include better safety equipment and engineering. It's also kinder to the environment.

Contrary to what many people think, there should be no difference in quality between 181 and 182 cars. Splitting the year is simply a way of encouraging people to get something new, and Michael says you should ask whether or not your new car is the current model.
