Donald Trump is planning to hold a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki this month.

The meeting is causing concern among some Americans, perhaps because of what happened during Trump's previous summit with Kim Jong-un, which has resulted in yet more empty promises from the North Korean leader.

According to Cal Thomas, there is also speculation in the United States that the real reason Trump wants to meet with Putin is to ask him "whether he really has any dirt on him."

The feeling is that Trump can't go into a meeting with Putin with no foreign policy advisers present and expect to work out a deal.
