Donald Trump has admitted to being partially responsible for last week's US Capitol riot, according to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
McCarthy spoke with the president by phone on Monday and relayed his comments to fellow Republicans.
However, it was reported that Trump blamed "Antifa people" for the riot during the same phone conversation, and he has since told reporters that "people thought what I said was totally appropriate".
