Whether or not you've decided how you'll vote in Friday's referendum, there are some things you need to be aware of when going to the polling station.
Jennifer Kavanagh, author of Electoral Law in Ireland and lecturer in Waterford Institute of Technology, joined us to give a list of 'dos and don'ts' when it comes to voting.
Some of the most important things to bear in mind include:
- Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm
- You don't need a polling card to vote, but you should bring a form of ID such as a passport or driving licence
- Don't wear any item of clothing, such as a jumper or badge, that reflects which way you'll be voting
- Don't take any photos at the polling station, or of the ballot paper
- You should cast your vote by placing an 'X' in the applicable box - not a 'tick' or any other mark
