How will Ireland's top-selling cars be impacted by the new VRT system introduced in Budget 2021?

Some motor industry experts predicted that the average family car would rise by upwards of €1,000 and that some larger petrol models, especially SUVs, would be hit by increases of €7,000.

The new VRT will be based off the new light vehicle test procedure emission systems, taking into account that cars under the new test record higher CO2 emissions.
