The boss of the National Lottery Andrew Algeo was in front of an Oireachtas Committee to discuss new lotto rules.
The lotto jackpot was last won in June and the top prize has now been capped at €19 million euro.
Dr Michael Cronin, head of statistics, School of Mathematical Sciences, University College Cork joined the Last Word to discuss.
