We've also been hearing from various people about their own journey through cancer, and this week on The Last Word we were joined by Lisa Dwane and her mother Marion.
Lisa is a researcher with the Irish Cancer Society, whose work focuses specifically on hormone-driven breast cancers.
Marion was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago, and her journey inspired Lisa to enter the field of cancer research.
They both shared their story as part of our Dare To Care campaign.
