The chocolate company Mars has removed all advertising from YouTube after their ads appeared alongside drill music videos.

Drill music originated in the Chicago rap scene and has become more mainstream over the years. It is characterised by its dark and violent lyrics which often focus on crime and life on the street, and has been blamed for fuelling violence.

Many people have responded to these claims and spoken out against critics of drill music. In the past year a petition was signed by over 6,000 people calling on YouTube to stop targeting the genre.

John Caddell and Claire Beck discussed this and some of the other music stories of the week.
