When it comes to a wedding day, one of the most important things (if not the most) is for the bride's dress to be perfect. If she's not happy in it - then forget about it.
As anyone who has ever gotten hitched, or watched a couple of episodes of Say Yes To The Dress will tell you, dress shopping is an arduous selection process; an emotional roller coaster with the bride fearing they will never find 'the one'.
Imagine you did find the dress of your dreams only to discover the store who stocked it no longer exists?
Well that's exactly what has happened to our listener Katie in Clondalkin.
Katie paid the deposit on her gown back in June and was ecstatic to have that job ticked off the list. But her mum had some bad news for her last night, after reading about the closure of Berketex Bride online.
Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, the bride-to-be had this to say, "everything had been going really well. I was organised, I had not got an ounce of bridezilla in me until last night, when my mam actually found an article on Facebook at about 10 o'clock to say the place I had bought my dress is just completely gone".
With her wedding day only five months away, understandably, she's in pieces. She spent the whole night crying and tells the lads how she had a feeling things were running too smooth, "so now it's like God has gone, 'Haha - I see ya'", she semi joked.
But it looks like you're not alone Katie. I've done a bit of snooping and there has been loads of uproar on the web, as Berketex Bride has closed all 16 of its outlets in the UK.
I recently picked up my wedding dress from berketex bridal and paid another £200 on top of the cost of my wedding dress to have it altered/fitted and they have now gone into administration, upset doesn’t even come close as I only have 4 months to go 😩#berketexbride #disappointed

The Glasgow Berketex staff went the extra mile to ensure as many brides as possible got their dresses. My daughter gets married in March, thankfully I was able to pick her dress up the same day the staff phoned her. Hope they all manage to get new jobs #verygrateful #thankyou https://t.co/zs2tUvLJuj

Show producer Maria enlightens us as to why getting the 'perfect' dress is so vital, and a couple of listeners chat about their woeful wedding scenarios. Like Jenny, who's wedding venue burned down 3 days before her big day, and Orla, who got her dress only a few hours before she said "I do".
