Absolute scenes!!!
In what was an epic weekend for the women's Irish hockey team, and Irish sport in general, something magical happened throughout the country.
😂😂 Christmas songs at the #Irishhockey homecoming!! What a wonderful group of talented, charming & humble young women. An honour & a pleasure to MC the event for @LordMayorDublin - very well organised! pic.twitter.com/UcNppgJoKM

On this morning's Dermot and Dave, the lads chatted to Ireland forward Anna O'Flanagan about this enchantment.
Like all the people involved in their journey, she was absolutely blown away by the support they received and will never forget that homecoming.

Anna told us how they "really wanted to put hockey on the map" and how their belief grew so much the further they got, "I think before the tournament our goals were somewhat different then they were throughout the tournament".
She also chatted about the impact their performances and results has on the future of the sport and how they have their eyes set firmly on the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. And who's to say they couldn't go all the way?
We don't need much encouragement to take pride in this lovely country of ours but it always helps we make ripples on the world stage.
Unbelievable stuff ladies. Here's to the future of Irish hockey.
