There'll be a Daniel O'Donnell tribute act on the new series of Ireland's Got Talent.
Judge Jason Byrne told Ian Dempsey that The Five Daniels are a group of kids who pay tribute to the iconic Donegal singer.
"These kids walked out ... and they had like yellow jumpers tied around their neck, brown trousers ... and they were about 10 or 11".
The group performed a Daniel O'Donnell song and a dance in front of Jason, Louis, Michelle and Denise and Jason reckons they'll be joining DO'D on tour very soon.
"They were the cutest things".
The Got Talent judge is following in the footsteps of David Walliams and has penned a children's book.
The Accidental Adventures of Onion O'Brien - The Great Ape Escape is about Onion O'Brien, an ordinary kid who gets caught up in extraordinary events.
"He is based on me when i as a little kid. I never went looking for adventure really. It just fell on my lap".
This book is aimed at kids aged 9 and up and follows Onion's plot to save a baby ape. For his birthday, Onion is taken to the circus, where the baby animal manages to escape and find her way into Onion's house.
But why Onion?
"In the book, when he was born his head looked like an onion so his parents called him Onion"
"A lot of newborns are very ugly children ... I don't think parents are honest enough".
This isn't the last we'll hear of Onion O'Brien. Book 2 in the series is due in Spring 2019 after Jason's second series of Ireland's Got Talent and he has also plans for a third and fourth book.
The pair also talked friend bird calls, accidentally hitting off the golden buzzer and other childhood authors.
