So it looks like the sword is in fact mightier than the pen.
The International Medieval Combat Federation (IMCF) World Championship took place in Perth, Scotland a couple of weeks back and Lara Serviolle came out on top in the female Longsword competition.
Lara is originally from France but has been living in Sligo for the past 5 years. On this morning's show she chatted to Dermot and Dave about the event and how in the name of Lancelot she got into this in the first place.
Over 500 fighters from 31 countries competed in the 4 day event where swords, shields, axes and maces are all used in a fight to the death (well there's no actual dying).

This is the first time I can use "slay sister, slay" literally.
