Brexit isn't all bad I suppose, after all, it did give rise to the hilarious mockumentary 'Soft Border Control', which stars one of Ireland's most-loved comedians (and our Today FM buddy), Neil Delamere.
It debuted on BBC back in March of this year and although the first series was only made up of 3 episodes, its brief stint has caught the attention of many viewers both north and south of the country.
Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, Neil explains how it was originally only meant to be a one-off, "we did one and we were meant to do kinda just one episode to be honest with ya and they got a lot out of it".
Here's what its about (in his words), "it's this Soft Border Patrol Unit that kind walks up and down the border and monitors things. It's funded by the EU and Dublin, and London, and Belfast - but they cannot do anything".
An intergovernmental organisation that doesn't do much and costs the taxpayer money?? Surely that could never happen in the real world?
The Offaly native chats about all the fun they have making it, how the script is mostly improvised (the best kind in our opinion) and divulges a few famous faces making an appearance when it returns to our screens next March.
Delamere also reveals the details of his new stand-up comedy tour 'Controlled Substance', where he reckons, "we just need enough money to be able to tell everyone else to feck off". Sounds about right to me.
Controlled Substance is now running nationwide. Check out the full list of dates here.
