Paul McCartney was James Corden's guest for a very special edition of Carpool Karaoke last week, which saw the pair driving around Liverpool while singing along to some classic Beatles songs.

Corden was overcome with emotion as they sang 'Let It Be' together, and McCartney explained that the song had been inspired by a dream he had about his late mother.

Afterwards, McCartney played an impromptu gig in a local pub, a big surprise for the delighted and unsuspecting crowd.

Last week also marked the release of the former Beatle's new double A-side single, I Don't Know and Come On To Me, which will be followed by a brand new studio album in September entitled Egypt Station.
