Neil Francis is a regular rugby contributor on The Last Word and a Sunday Independent columnist.

However, the subject of his column yesterday was GAA, as he described the flying of Palestinian flags at games such as the recent All-Ireland final as a "perversity".

Neil joined us to explain why he feels this way, citing the attack carried out by a Palestinian terrorist group on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics as an example.

"There are plenty of Palestinian refugees in Ireland, but these people were not Palestinian people, and Palestine weren't taking part in the All-Ireland final. I don't think it's appropriate."

He says he probably wouldn't advocate the flying of Israeli flags either, and doesn't understand why anyone would do so.

"I think the two protagonists in the Middle Eastern conflict are as bad as each other."
