Doing prison gigs isn't something you hear many performers chat about, but award-winning comedian Danny O'Brien likes to push the boat out a bit.
Chatting on Dermot and Dave, Danny makes the point that although inmates are "the most marginalised people in society", they still need a laugh. It's not a view everyone would have but he feels it's a "good test for you as a comic".
He really enjoyed the shows, laughing as he said, "I had way more difficult gigs over the Christmas with the Christmas office parties".
In light of this, the name of his current nationwide (and Australian) tour 'Lock-In' is very apt.
