One of Ireland's most successful screen and stages actors Don Wycherley joined Alison Curtis on Weekend Breakfast.

The star of Bachhelor's Walk and Sing Street chatted about the 2020 programme of The Gaiety Theatre.

Don stars in the upcoming Martin McDonagh play 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' and talks about what its like to work with a cat on stage.

'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' cast includes Paul Mescal (The Great Gatsby), Aisling Kearns ( Asking For It), Alex Murphy (The Young Offenders) and Cillian Ó Gairbhí (Blood, Darklands).

Oscar Award-winning director and playwright Martin McDonagh’s work is known and loved by both theatre and film audiences alike (In Bruges, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri).

In the play on a lonely road on the island of Inishmore, someone killed Mad Padraic’s cat. He’ll want to know who it did when he gets back from a stint of torture and chip-shop bombing in Northern Ireland. He loves his cat more than life itself, and someone is going to pay.

Set in the 1990s, The Lieutenant of Inishmore is a clever satire on terrorism, the beautification of violence in contemporary culture and a hilarious farce in true McDonagh fashion.

It runs January 27th until 14th March.
