Only in their early twenties, Galway sisters Izzy and Ailbhe Keane have embarked on a booming business career with their trail-blazing fashion company - Izzy Wheels.

Izzy was born with spina bifida and has spent most of her life in a wheelchair. Her colourful and creative sister Ailbhe used to decorate Izzy's wheelchair.

Izzy shared "As soon as the wheelchair looked glam, everyone wanted to talk about it!"

As part of Ailbhe's final art show for NCAD, she chose to create fashionable covers for wheelchairs with the tagline - ‘If you can't stand up, stand out'.

"To transform a medical device into a piece of fashion, piece of self expression" Ailbhe said.

Izzy Wheels snowballed quickly and now designers like Orla Kiely, Maser and Helen Steele have their designs on Izzy Wheels, with over 800 designers waiting!

Izzy Wheels has won countless awards and global acknowledgments, like a spot on the Forbes '30 Under 30' List.

Ailbhe and Izzy Keogh popped in for a chat with Alison Curtis on Weekend Breakfast.
