Autumn is a great time to travel – schools are back, there are fewer crowds and airlines are still running summer schedules. 

Popular city breaks like Barcelona, Venice and Dubrovnik are well and good, but suffer increasingly from ‘over-tourism’ and are now trying to limit visits.

It’s a good excuse to look off the beaten track!
