Billy Burns to miss Ireland's Nations Cup game with Scotland


Ireland out half Billy Burns will miss Saturday's Nations Cup match against Scotland at the Aviva Stadium with a groin injury.

Will Connors is following the return to play protocols, but won't be selected, while James Lowe and Ed Byrne are also out.

Johnny Sexton and Robbie Henshaw have returned to training with the squad.

Keith Earls has overcome a back spasm and will be fit, as will Conor Murray, who is shaking off a dead leg.

Rob Herring has returned to the paddock after winning his battle with a rib issue.

Harry Byrne and Eric O'Sullivan will also train with the squad this week.

Ireland have won two and lost one of their Nations Cup matches to date.

A 32-9 defeat of Wales and a 23-10 win over Georgia was sandwiched by an 18-7 loss to England at Twickenham.

Kick off against the Scots at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday is at 2.15.
