Ed Sheeran is being sued for $20 million by a songwriting duo who claim his hit Photograph is note for note the same as a Matt Cardle hit which they wrote in 2009. According to the claim by Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard, the chorus sections of their song ‘Amazing’ and ‘Photograph’, which was released in 2014 share 39 individual notes, meaning the notes are identical in pitch, rhythmic duration and placement. There’s no doubt, from listening to it – the similarities are there.
Harrington and Leonard have enlisted the same attorney who represented Marvin Gaye’s family when they took on Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke for the similarities between Blurred Lines and Gaye’s ‘Got To Give It Up’ so....he could be in trouble!
Axl Rose is demanding that Google take down some very unflattering pictures of him. A number of pretty bad pictures of the Guns and Roses star have been circulating online for a while and he’s none too happy about it. 11 requests have been made by the star since May 31st. Basically, in the pictures, Axl looks a bit bloated and he looks a little different than he used to. He’s getting a bit of stick for asking to take them down but I’d DEFINITELY ask Google to take down bad pictures of me. Luckily, with me....there's no such thing as a bad picture.....COUGH.
Louis Walsh is a great one for the bitchy comments and he has done it again. This time, Girls Aloud got a roasting! So, Louis originally managed the band and it was often said that he didn’t give them enough of his time. He responded and agreed – saying yes, he didn’t give them a lot of his time but they didn’t give him any time and they didn’t even like each other. He said there were problems from Day One when he said that Nadine was the best singer. And it gets better – he reckons Nadine would have been more successful if she’d married a footballer like Victoria Beckham or Cheryl. Saucer of milk for one please.
And finally, according to The Independent, Shane MacGowan has recorded the latest song for Ireland’s Euro 2016 campaign. Je t’aime Ireland is “a song that makes love to Ireland” according to John Cronin, who recorded the song with MacGowan and others yesterday.
