Katie Laffan is Louise's session guest tonight. Katie is part of the word up collective and is playing this Saturday in the National Concert Hall as part of the Young Blood Event for St Patricks Weekend.

Get Yourselves to Young Blood This Saturday in The National Concert Hall. 

Line Up Includes;

•     The Rusangano Family from Limerick and Clare are joined by Dubliners Hare Squead and Katie Laffan.

•     Hare Squead signed to Columbia Records and are getting significant reactions from the UK. The Soul Pop Rappers are Tony, E-Knock and singer Jessy Rose.

•     Katie Laffan is one of the new voices on the scene and is part of the WORD UP collective. This is her biggest show to date.

•     Stephen James Smith rose to public recognition with his poem "Dublin You Are", a homage to his native Dublin. For 2017, St. Patrick's Festival have commissioned Stephen to pen a poem entitled “My Ireland” which will be an overarching, edgy look at our nation, past and present.

 Stephen's response to the Festival's theme Ireland You Are inspired the Young Blood concept which will bring together the young creative producers in Ireland today. Stephen has invited some of the most vibrant Spoken Word artists and Poets to share the stage.

•     John Cummins is a writer and a three times Leinster Poetry Slam Champion. In 2013/2014, he was been awarded All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion.

•    Abby Oliveira is a poet, writer and performer based in Derry. She won the inaugural Lingo festival poetry slam. She has supported artists such as Damien Dempsey at the London Irish Centre in 2014, Scroobius Pip and Polar Bear.

•     Sarah Clancy from Galway. She has written 3 collections of poetry, The Truth and Other Stories, Stacey and the Mechanical Bull, and Thanks for Nothing, Hippies. Sarah has won the Cúirt International Festival of Literature Grand Slam Championships and been runner up in the all Ireland Poetry Slam in 2013. In 2015 she was named the Bogman's Cannon People's Poet.
