Austria has announced it's going to build a fence along its border with Slovenia to slow down the flow of refugees trying to enter the country.
The Austrian Interior Minister said the move was designed to ensure an orderly, controlled entry into the country.
But Austria's government says it is not shutting down the border with its EU neighbour.
Meanwhile, the Minister for State with responsibility for New Communities says it's likely that Ireland will take in more refugees from Syria, as conflict in the war-torn country continues.
The first of the 4,000 asylum seekers due to take refuge here will arrive next month.
However, Minister Aodhán Ó'Ríordán thinks this number will eventually be exceeded.
A task force set up to deal with the the refugees' arrival is meeting later this afternoon.
