The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been ousted by Donald Trump.
The news was initially broken by The Washington Post, who said President Trump asked the former Exxon chief to step aside last Friday.
The US President tweeted to say that Mike Pompeo, the Director of the CIA, will now take up the role.
CIA deputy director Gina Haspel will become the first female director of the Intelligence Agency.
Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!

As the highest ranking diplomat, Mr Tillerson - who was given the role despite no political experience - had reportedly clashed with President Trump on many issues over the last year.
It also follows the departure of Trump's economic adviser Gary Cohn and senior aide Hope Hicks in recent weeks.
The ousting comes ahead of the planned meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un in the coming months.
