Be they mutual or one-sided, everyone reacts differently. For some, it's four weeks of exchanging Netflix & chill for Ben & Jerrys and sobbing.

CelebLand has been rocked (ahem) recently by a series of big breakups recently - and we've since learned that nobody does it better than the rich and famous.
1. Dismiss your relationship on social media
While your former significant other is busy uploading inspo quotes to their Instagram ('everything happens for a reason' is our personal fave), change your relationship status immediately. Redownload Tinder. Throw a selfie up on Snapchat á la Holly Carpenter. Or, just follow in Iggy Azalea's ex's footsteps and tear their flowery posts down to one word.

2. Hack their social media accounts
Nothing says 'I am handling this like an adult' like a solid frape. One Twitter user (who wishes to remain anonymous), went on to her ex-boyfriend's Facebook, searched back through to the girl he was cheating on her with, and liked all their posts ...
... Then unliked and reliked them after a couple of days. So deliciously petty.

Fire is therapeutic, you know. Twitters users told us they burned everything from Polaroids to presents. Be happy in the knowledge that Generic John dropped serious dollars on that Michael Kors bag only for you to use it as turf?

5. Write a song about them
Whip out your six string, write a break-up anthem and profit off of your ex's horrendous life choices.

6. Become friends with people they hate
Speaking of T-Swizzle, her most recent ex Calvin Harris is allegedly working with Kanye West on a track. Kanye and Taylor famously fell out, made up, and then fell out again. So after Taylor was spotted smooching Tom Hiddleston recently, Calvin felt it was only natural to give Kanye a bell.

7. Spread rumours about them
Probably not possible in the big bad world of celebrity - helloooooo defamation suit! - but there's nothing stopping you. One Twitter user confessed her ex told people she gave him an STI (not true), so she told people he cried after 'doing the deed', (absolutely true).
