Last night was one of the biggest nights of the year in the entertainment industry with both the BAFTAs and the Grammys taking place. You can read all about the BAFTAs here.

The 61st Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles last night and the star studded event was a momentous night for many.

Cardi B made history by becoming the first solo female artist to win the Grammy for Best Rap Album.

She dedicated her award to Mac Miller after his family declared they wanted her to win the award if Mac didn't win.

Childish Gambino took home 3 awards on the night for Best Music Video, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year for This is America.

Unsurprisingly, Dua Lipa won the award for Best New Artist.

Ariana Grande won her first ever Grammy for Best Pop Vocal on Sweetener. She was unable to attend the awards due to a scheduling clash.

However she did post a series of photos of her wearing the dress she would have worn to the ceremony... standard.

There were reports of a spat between Ariana and the organisers of the awards show after it was announced she would no longer be performing on the night.

Apparently, Grande wanted to perform her hit song 7 Rings but the Grammys' bosses weren't having any of it. She then pulled out of the performance citing stifled creativity as the issue:

Drake took home the award for Best Rap Song for God's Plan and during his acceptance speech he seemed to take a swing at the Grammys for their supposed lack of support for the hip hop industry. His microphone was cut off mid way through his speech and the cameras cut away from him:

The biggest winners on the night were:

Album of the Year: Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves

Record of the Year: This Is America - Childish Gambino

Song of the Year: This Is America - Childish Cambino

Best New Artist: Dua Lipa

Best Pop Solo Performance: Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?) - Lady Gaga

Best Pop Vocal Album: Sweetener - Ariana Grande

Best Rap Album: Invasion of Privacy - Cardi B

Best Music VideoThis is America - Childish Gambino

Best pop duo/group performance - Shallow, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
