A post-mortem examination is due to take place today on the body of a woman found dead at a house in Finglas, Dublin.
The woman has been named locally as 48-year-old Loredana Morosanu, who was originally from Romania.
Her body was discovered at a property on Melville Terrace in Finglas shortly after 4.30am yesterday morning, Monday, October 26th.
A man in his 40s was subsequently arrested in connection with her death and remains in Garda custody as investigations continue.
The woman's body was removed to the City Morgue in Whitehall, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place today.
The results of the examination are expected to help determine the direction of the Garda investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Melville Terrace area between midnight and 5am on Monday morning.
They're also asking motorists who travelled through the area during those hours and may have dashcam footage to make it available to investigators.
