Who’s he, you may ask... why, if we said ‘Frostbit’ you’d know. Anyhow, he’s still scratching his head as to what he really did other than say it was cold, and as he stars in a panto and readies a new jive single (yes, a new single, for jiving to) he joined Anton, er, Dermot and Dave for a catch up.
His original “Aye you wouldn’t be long getting Frostbit” clip on Youtube has been viewed nearly 3 million times – Ruairi says that it is over 50 million views. When he spoke with Anton last year, he said that he had a lot romantic offers from ladies who would prefer to give him lovebites rather than frostbites after seeing him online. Frostbit went viral worldwide, made into memes and a week after it went global, A customer of Eye Candy Tattoo Studio in Bangor by the name of Carl got a tattoo of Ruairi on his leg. A lady has even got one on her breast, something Frostbit Kid was particularly delighted with...
Since then, he has graduated from secondary school and is studying media and Irish in Connemara in NUIG. He joined us from Galway to give us a bar of his new country son called ‘The Girl for Me’. The video is out on Christmas Day and it will be available to pre order on iTunes. The song will be released on the anniversary of Frostbit – the 13th of January.
He is also appearing in a panto in the Millennium Forum in Derry where he plays the voice of the genie.
