The newly launched Huawei Snapys, an independent award for the ever growing Irish instagram community, has revealed that Ireland takes eight times more selfies than England and 40 times more selfies than the States.
So yes it seems we are in fact just a bunch of narcissists! However, Galway wins the crown with six times more selfies than those in Dublin; following closely is Limerick and Cork.
Another win for the west coast, the Cliffs Of Moher are Ireland’s most photographed landmark beating Croke Park to the top spot by just 10,000 images.
One in four 15-24 year olds in Ireland are on Instagram with almost 50% of people logging on daily and thanks to Huawei Snapys, Irish instagram users have something “big and bold for all to get involved with.”
With 70 million photos shared on Instagram around the world daily, the Irish are being rewarded for our everyday creative photography skills.
With 20 categories in fashion, food, the great outdoors, music and more, the Irish public will have a chance to share their daily experiences with their friends but also in with a chance of being short-listed for the grand prize a money cannot buy experience which will be tailored to the interests of the winner at the awards ceremony this October.
