Conor McGregor has been charged after handing himself into police in New York overnight. 

The NYPD confirmed the MMA star has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief.

The Dublin fighter was wanted for questioning in the city yesterday after an attack on a bus carrying UFC contestants.

25 year old Dublin MMA fighter Cian Cowley with an address at Hyde Park Dalkey has also been charged in relation to the violence.

A video has emerged claiming to show McGregor throwing a trolley which shattered the bus's window.

Fighter Michael Chiesa was hospitalised with cuts to his face.

Later on he condemned the incident calling it 'the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company'.

Police said the criminal mischief charge relates to damage caused to the bus.
