Today’s Daily Download comes from a band formed around 12 years ago in Sunderland – and they’re called Field Music. The band is made up of brothers David and Peter Brewis, who were former members of a favourite band of mine, the Futureheads. This track is called “Disappointed” and it’s taken from the new album Commontime which is out now – this is their sixth studio album.
It’s got a real funky feel to it in general – and you wouldn’t be wrong thinking that the opening bars were something that McCartney put together back in the day. They’re just out the door heading off on a UK tour and from there they’re travelling the States 'til May – so hopefully we’ll see them for one of the festivals here over the summer.
