Today’s Daily Download comes from FKA Twigs. Tahliah Debrett Barnett is her real name but she goes by the stage name of FKA Twigs – Twigs was her childhood nickname, so she’s “formerly known as” Twigs – very clever. She grew up “in the middle of nowhere” as she says herself in Gloustershire in the UK - She moved to London at 17 and became a back-up dancer. She has starred as a back-up dancer in videos for Ed Sheeran, Taio Cruz, Kylie Minogue, and Jessie J to name a few - Her first album called LP1 was released last year, she gained a certain amount of fame since the release because she’s now engaged to R Patz, Robert Pattinson. She’s up for Best Contemporary Song AND Best song musically and lyrically in the Ivor Novellos – alongside other Ivor Novello nominees such as Sam Smith, Clean Bandit and Hozier. This is “Two Weeks” with FKA Twigs and it’s Thursday’s Daily Download.
