Today’s Daily Download comes from Alabama Shakes, it’s called “Don’t Wanna Fight”. It’s the first single from the band’s new album Sound & Color, which is due for release next month. Brittany Howard’s vocals have been compared to a mix between James Brown and Barry Gibb – an unusual mix but not a bad one either. Their album Boys & Girls came out in 2012 – and gained critical acclaim on its release, I know a lot of Today FM DJs were fond of it… The band say that this new album is “full of genre-bending songs”. They’re kicking off the American festival circuit with dates at Coachella and Bonnaroo – and in the meantime they’ll be on the road in the states, touring this new album. This is “Don’t Wanna Fight” by Alabama Shakes and it’s Thursday’s Daily Download.
