Lana Del Rey has discussed the influences behind her new track, "High By The Beach". She released the single on Monday night and said: "It's a little like a hip-hop record. I was driving by the beach a lot. Even with the harmonies, it almost sounded monotone. But with the beat, it has this trap influence." This is the latest track from Lana’s forthcoming new album, Honeymoon which is rumoured for release in September. Rolling Stone says: “Lana Del Rey is worn down by life and love on her synth-driven new single, seeking sweet escape near the ocean.” Cosmopolitan says: “Lana has once again managed to out-Lana herself on this low-key (but still extremely catchy) tune, singing about love gone wrong with a side of drug use.” Billboard says: “High By The Beach” is relatively upbeat and structurally sedate, with Del Rey offering perhaps the most radio-friendly song of her entire career.”
