Spotify’s Year in Music looks back at the soundtrack of this year, which saw over 50 million Spotify users listen to over 7 billion hours of music in 2014. Ed Sheeran  has been crowned the most streamed artist of 2014, with the UK singer songwriter being listened to more than 860 million times across the globe this year on Spotify.  Ed also holds the title for the most streamed album for x which was released in June to rave reviews, and which had over 430 million streams from the album by fans.   

Ed will make a welcome return to screens next week on The High Hopes Choir, RTE One, Thursday 11th December at 10.15pm. The TV show follows two homeless choirs brought together by RTE Concert Orchestra conductor David Brophy to create a single to raise money for homeless charities.
