Things are only going one way for the amazingly talented Hozier – and that’s up, up and up.

His self-titled debut album entered the US Billboard/Soundscan 200 this week at #2 selling 57,859 copies, making it the second highest charting entry for a new artist in 2014.

The album entered the Canadian Album Chart at #2, Belgian Album Chart at #3 and UK Album Chart at #5. It also secured Top 15 chart positions in Denmark (#9), Holland (#11) and Germany (#14).

Hozier wowed TV audiences this past weekend with an impeccable performance on Saturday Night Live, the first debut artist of 2014 to appear as musical guest on the show.

This week, he also won the EBBA (European Border Breakers Award) for Ireland in 2015. The EBBAs are about breaking down borders and recognising emerging European rock, pop and dance artists who achieved success in other countries than their own.
