Leonard Cohen is set to release his 13th album, Popular Problems, on Friday 19th September, two days before his 80th birthday.
The first single to be taken from the album is ‘Almost Like The Blues’ – and it’s an instant download on every pre-order of the album.
Popular Problems was created in collaboration with co-writer Patrick Leonard and is an album of new songs.
Leonard Cohen has influenced millions of people throughout his six-decade-long career. He has sold over 23 million albums, worldwide and published 12 books.
From 2008 to 2013, Leonard Cohen toured the world, totalling 470 shows in 31 countries attended by 4 million fans.
His honours include a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient (2010), induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (2008), the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame (2006), the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (2006) and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame (2010). He has received the prestigious Principe de Asturias Prize – the highest literary award in Spain (2011) - as well as the Glenn Gould Prize (Canada, 2011). He has earned his country's highest civilian honours - Officer of the Order of Canada (1991), Companion to the Order of Canada (2003) and Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec (2008).
