This week’s Focus Group is on Oasis and their 1995 studio album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
The band’s second studio album, it was produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher and was a significant departure from their debut – Definitely Maybe – in its style and structure. It propelled Oasis to worldwide fame.
The album sold a record-breaking 347,000 copies in its first week on sale, spent 10 weeks at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart and reached number 4 in the US Billboard 200. It has sold approximately 22 million copies worldwide.
The album received Best British Album at the 1996 Brit Awards and won Best Brits album of the past 30 years at the 2010 Brit Awards.
Singles from the album include: "Some Might Say", "Don't Look Back in Anger", "Champagne Supernova" and "Wonderwall".
