One in four Irish women between 18 and 34 have experienced an unplanned or crisis pregnancy.
New figures from the Irish Family Planning Association show that 38 percent of Irish couples report using no contraception, while 30 percent say they rely on the withdrawal method.
Condoms are the most popular form of protection followed by the pill.
The IFPA says says the figures show a need for more education and knowledge on reliable contraceptive methods.
