10 dogs, including 5 puppies, have been seized at Dublin Port after customs officers stopped two men disembarking a ferry from Holyhead.

The Irish men in their 50s had no passports for the animals.

The Pomeranian and Spaniel type dogs and puppies are in the care of the DSPCA.

A follow up investigation is underway.
