A new report says people are waiting up to two years to get an appointment with the Legal Aid Board.
The Free Legal Advice Centre says it has seen an increase in people seeking its services, because of the long waiting lists.
There was a 10% increase in the number of people contacting FLAC in 2013 to over 27,500, with a significant increase in queries about housing and renting issues.
FLAC, which is launching its annual report for 2013 today, says the Legal Aid Board is not sufficiently resourced to meet demand.
