1,000 ESB customers have been left without power after stormy conditions around the country today.

Outages are being reported in almost every province with Dublin, Donegal and Longford some of the worst affected areas.

High winds earlier are blamed for the loss of supply but Met Eireann's Joanna Donnelly says the weather should improve in the coming days:
