The number of tourists coming to Ireland is on the rise.

New figures show there has been an increase of 10.3% in visitor numbers during the first half of this year.

More than 324,000 extra people travelled to Ireland between January and June, compared to the same time in 2013.

It comes as a new report shows that 30,000 jobs have been created through the reduced rate of VAT in the hospitality sector.

The 9% levy was introduced by the Government in 2011 to boost tourism and stimulate employment in the sector.

The study was carried out by Deloitte for Failte Ireland.
