104,000 Employed People In Ireland At Risk Of Poverty

Over 104 thousand people with a job are at risk of poverty.

That's the stark figure from think tank Social Justice Ireland, which says workers' rights are not being protected.

It says what's even more notable is that this number's been rising since 2009, despite the economic recovery.

Social Justice Ireland Chief Executive Dr. Sean Healy says work is precarious, 'The economic recovery has failed to address issues like low pay and an unfair tax system. More than 1 in 8 people at risk of poverty has a job'.
