Officials in Pakistan say the death toll from an oil tanker explosion has risen to 148.

The tragedy happened after the vehicle overturned on a road in the Punjab province.

Dozens more people are in a critical condition in hospital.

It's understood the explosion happened as people rushed to gather fuel leaking from the tanker.
