14 councils have revised down their Property Tax rates for next year, which will save more than a million homeowners a total of 45 million euro.

New figures from Revenue show 94 per cent of homeowners paid the tax this year - down from 95 per cent in 2013 - and there were 400 referrals to the sheriff for people who refused to pay.
