The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has closed 15 food businesses across the country as a result of breaches of food safety regulations.
Pub's, cafe's delicatessens and a supermarket were among the business closed for breaches of environmental health regulations.
A Closure Order is served where where there is a grave and immediate danger to public health.
The Food Safety Authority says there is no excuse for negligent practices.
Dr Bernard Hegarty of the FSAI says that in many cases the breaches are avoidable. He says many businesses are not doing the basics and its not clear if some are cutting corners to save money
