Singer Katy Perry wowed crowds during the Super Bowl halftime show - in the US - in a spectacular performance with dancing sharks and a giant mechanical lion.

Dancing life-size beach balls also featured in her set and there were guest performances from Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz.

The New England Patriots are now superbowl champions, after beating the Seattle Seahawks.

It was expected to draw a whopping 15 million viewers -- or about one third of all Americans.
