A 15 year-old boy has been arrested after a taxi was hijacked in south Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened just before 5.30am when the taxi stopped for a fare on the Terenure road.
The 36 year-old driver of the taxi was threatened with a knife and told to get out of the car.
It's understood the teenager drove off in the taxi in the direction of the city. He collided with another car on the Old Cabra road a short time later. No one was injured during the incident.
Gardai arrested the youth and he is being held at Rathmines Garda Station.
