A family has been allowed to keep their home after one of the largest debt forgiveness deals reached with AIB.

The State owned bank wrote off over €150,000 or more than one third of the family's 400,000 euro mortgage.

The deal was negotiated with AIB by the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation.
